Located at the eastern end of Chongming Island, overlooking the East China Sea, Hyatt Regency Chongming is a 235 room city retreat, with design references drawn from both traditional and modern China. Although close to Shanghai, Chongming Island is a world away. Surrounded by a combination of wetland ecosystem and rural farmland, nature naturally forms the backdrop and unifying element of the landscape design, with native plant species, seasonal accent and colour being primary features. A unique collection of contemporary artwork elements, lanterns and water features have been designed and positioned strategically throughout the hotel gardens and a series of reflective pools and waterbodies create a sense of calmness, tranquillity and dramatic lighting effect at night.
