W Resort Costa Navarino, Messinia, Greece
Landscape Architecture / Landscape Masterplanning / Resort / Beach/Waterside / Desert/Arid
W Costa Navarino is the first W opening in Greece. A stone’s throw from a beautiful, long white-sand beach, the new resort’s design is inspired by the region’s traditional villages and uses local materials, such as wood and stone, in line with the developer’s strong sustainability principles.
The project offers 226 stylish rooms, two-bedroom suites, and three-bedroom villas with private infinity pools, all set within the Bay of Navarino, offering stunning views of the Ionian Sea.
Coopers Hill’s role spanned from site master planning to detailed design, working closely with the developer and the lead architect to ensure the site’s value was maximised for guest experience.
Key landscape facilities driving the layout at the heart of the project include the central swimming pools and gardens, as well as the large connected swim-up pools that meander along the lower rooms of each major guest block. Guests can wander through the gardens to ‘Parelia’ the destination beach club and a highlight of the resort, along with the watersports facilities and the neighbouring Navarino Agora—a waterside retail and mixed-use tourism development with an open-air cinema and restaurants, designed as part of the project masterplan.
The resort is blessed with playful public spaces, five dining venues, including the vibrant Beach Club, a wellness area with the AWAY® Spa, and FIT gym to fuel both the body and mind. Together with its inventive yet authentic cuisine and welcoming service, these elements create a socially driven destination.
