Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, India
Landscape Architecture / Hotel / Cultural / Urban
The landscape design for this 202-room luxury city hotel is a fusion of contemporary design and traditional Indian craftsmanship and materials. Strategically positioned throughout the landscape and helping to define the hotel’s signature restaurants are a series of hand carved sandstone sculptures and mural walls. In keeping with the overall character of the landscape design, these unique artwork features are contemporary-Indian in character.
One of the main landscape design challenges for this project was to create a private and secluded setting for the hotel. A series of “green” boundary walls and fences were created to achieve this. From the rain curtain feature at the arrival area through to the dramatic infinity edge swimming pool that overlooks the Mumbai skyline, water is a constant theme in the landscape of this green oasis in the heart of the city.
