The master plan design for this 2 kilometer long linear park is the centerpiece for a planned new town development located on the current outskirts of Jakarta. The park follows the route of a wide drainage canal and in the future will link residential, office and commercial zones and provide a wide range of recreation, entertainment and environmental functions and facilities for residents and visitors. The parks master plan vision is to reconnect people with nature, through the metaphorical journey of water, flowing through a linear landscape that starts in the forest, winds through changing zones of agriculture and open pasture and eventually ends at the sea. The park has been conceptualized as the start of a recreational and ecological green network for Jakarta of the future, where people can rediscover and experience nature in the heart of the city.
