Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai – M Gallery, Thailand
Landscape Architecture / Landscape Masterplanning / Resort / Cultural / Mountain/Hillside
This 80 room boutique hill resort located in the hills outside of Chiang Mai has been designed as a celebration of nature and the culture heritage of Northern Thailand. The landscape design brings the surrounding countryside into the heart of the resort and allows guests the rare opportunity to experience a unique environment. Magnificent views of the nearby Sameung Mountains are framed by locally manufactured clay brick walls, inspired by the city walls of old Chiang Mai and native teak forest trees have been planted to provide shade. The resorts landscape has the authentic countryside character, with terraces of rice paddy and tea plantation, sugar palms, mango trees and lemon grass. The architecture, landscape and interiors have been closely coordinated and choreographed to achieve a unique and eclectic mix, which blends contemporary design with the countryside of Northern Thailand and traditional Lanna Thai art culture.
