Golden Palm Stony Brook Villa, Sanya, China
Landscape Architecture / Resort / Beach/Waterside / Cultural / Mountain/Hillside
A stylised stony brook cascades through the central landscape spine of this hillside resort at Yalong Bay, Sanya, linking two naturalistic waterbodies that have been created at the Northern and Southern ends of the site. In addition to being landscape features, these streams and lakes also serves as a bioswale and surface water runoff catchment system during heavy rain. The landscape design for this family resort has been carefully matched with the existing topography and levels of the hillside site, to create minimal disturbance to landform and existing tree levels. Inspired by South East Asian architecture, landscape elements and artwork, a series of fun and playful sculptures and figures have been designed throughout the resort and hand crafted by artisans.
