Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, Seychelles

This eco-focused family resort occupies a spectacular beachfront site on Silhouette Island, Seychelles- acknowledged as one of the richest biodiversity hot spots in the Western Indian Ocean and designated as an environmental protection area. Working together with nature, rather than against it, the flora and fauna, water systems and natural processes of this unique island were carefully studies and monitored throughout the landscape design and construction process, to ensure that none of the existing character of the site was lost – from the dense primeval forest areas, waterfalls and lagoon, down to the pristine sand beach area, with its dramatic granite boulder formations. The degraded tidal estuary and natural lagoon ecosystem around the site was identified as a key concern and solutions to rectify the water quality were integrated into the overall resort design.
